Owner offers Main Street parcel; residents press to save existing building

Commissioners responded that the decision to keep or demolish the building is the property owner's to make; they added that the current structure is believed to be beyond repair and that any new building proposed for the site would be reviewed by the Planning Commission to ensure compliance with town codes and standards.
Commissioners asked Belzner to provide prices and said they would discuss the matter at a future meeting and report back to him. The Planning Commission separately reviewed a preliminary subdivision plan for Wall Street and asked the applicant to submit a more detailed plan. The commission also reviewed updated plans for the Wheatlands development, and a developer representative said they have a builder lined up and anticipate beginning residential construction around January 2026 in two phases.
No formal action was taken on the 6915 Main Street offer at the March 12 meeting; commissioners indicated additional review and Planning Commission input would guide any future decision.
