Winter maintenance and salt funding: The committee authorized an extension of winter maintenance work around Esopus Reservoir that brings $1,250,000 in added maintenance funding for those county roads. Separately, the committee amended the 2026 operating budget to transfer $600,000 from contingency into county road appropriations to replenish salt stockpiles after an unusually heavy winter and delivery shortages; DPW said barns need filling to avoid next winter's shortages.
Historic listing support: The committee voted unanimously to support evaluating three county‑owned Kingston properties (1 Pearl St., 17 Pearl St., Hutton Building) for nomination to the New York State and National Registers of Historic Places to make the county eligible for restoration grants; members discussed the possibility of an exterior‑only designation to reduce interior renovation constraints.
