The Paoli Town Council opened bids for a lead service line replacement project at the start of its April 10 special session and voted to take the offers under advisement pending engineer review.
President Theron Owen called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. and the council read four bids aloud. The bids listed were Cooper Ridge Contracting ($1,840,000.00); ISI ($920,960.00) with a mandatory alternate of $67,800.00; Reed and Sons Inc. ($1,073,675.00) with a mandatory alternate of $80,700.00; and Love Excavating, which included an internal discrepancy—$936,850.00 written out but $934,850.00 numerically. Bobbie Bostock moved to take the bids under advisement pending the engineer’s review; Donna Dillard seconded and the motion passed 5-0.
Council documents state that the bids are available for inspection. The council did not take further action on award or contract terms at the April 10 meeting; staff and the town engineer will review the bids and return recommendations at a later meeting.
