Paoli approves extra cemetery-restoration funds; resident raises payroll-refund concerns

Chief Deputy Clerk-Treasurer Rachel Anderson told the council that cemetery-restoration supplies originally approved at $500 cost $783.21 after shipping; Councilman Danny Hickman moved to approve the additional $283.21, Councilwoman Donna Dillard seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
During the public-comment portion Amy Gilbert raised alleged discrepancies in refunds and payments of employee deductions from 2024 through 2026 and asked that the council amend the minutes of Dec. 17, 2024. Councilwoman Dillard moved to approve the requested minutes amendment and Councilman Brian Shipman seconded; the motion passed 3-2 with Dillard, Hickman and Shipman voting yes and President Theron Owen and Councilwoman Bobbie Bostock voting no. The minutes do not record further investigation or corrective actions regarding the payroll-discrepancy allegation.
