The Reidville Town Council handled routine governance business including approval of committee minutes, acceptance of a financial report, an appointment to the Architectural Review Board, and a series of administrative updates.
The council unanimously approved the Reidville Revitalization Advisory Committee minutes from January 20, 2026; Administrator Christine McKaba said final minutes would correct the spellings of Sean Goggin and Jonathan Diaddigo. Mayor Josh Simpson moved and Councilmember Justin Beardsley seconded acceptance of the financial report labeled in the minutes as the "January 2025 Financial Report," and the council voted unanimously to accept it (the transcript labels the document "January 2025").
Mayor Simpson also announced the town's participation in a work-based internship fair on Feb. 25 and that Administrator McKaba will attend on behalf of the town. He told the council he has been appointed to the Municipal Association of SC (MASC) Board. Councilmember Justin Beardsley said he has reached out to the newly appointed sheriff to request a meeting about a potential agreement for a dedicated Reidville officer and is awaiting a meeting date.
Councilmember Amy Gore informed the council that Mrs. Jackson has resigned from the part-time Event Support Coordinator role; Gore and Administrator McKaba said they will seek a replacement and stressed the position’s importance for securing event sponsorships. The council also appointed Timothy Yeargin to the Architectural Review Board; Administrator McKaba administered the oath of office.
The minutes do not provide further detail on financials, the proposed sheriff agreement, or a timeline for hiring a replacement coordinator.
