Harrisburg School Board accepts resignations and approves multiple hires after executive session

After returning from executive session on May 12, 2026, the Harrisburg School Board approved a slate of personnel actions recommended by Superintendent Julie Isbell, accepting several resignations and hiring replacements and additional staff for the 2026-2027 school year.
The board accepted the resignation of Heather Henderson from the teacher/parent coordinator role at Harrisburg High School; the motion to accept the resignation was made by Ashley Rowton and seconded by Jeremy Lally and carried 4-0. The board hired Luci Reyes as an HHS teacher (moved by Bridgett Hewitt; seconded by Ashley Rowton; motion carried 4-0) and approved Monica Moore as Fine Arts Center Coordinator for 2026-2027 (moved by Ashley Rowton; seconded by Jeremy Lally; motion carried 4-0). The board also hired Marlie Kinard as an HES teacher and Emma Smith as a 0.80 FTE instructional aide at WES; both motions carried 4-0.
The board approved hiring Paul Peters as district maintenance, effective May 13, 2026 (motion carried 4-0). The Extended School Year staff were approved as presented: teachers Brandy Lacy, Paige George, Emaly Stonecipher and Casey Howton; paraprofessionals Crystal Heineman, Stephanie Camp, Seth Moore, Barbara Harper and Shauna Quinn; transportation Fonda House (motion carried 4-0). The board accepted Amber Sutton's resignation from the Pre-K position to remain in the classroom at HES and accepted the resignation of Monica King as an HES teacher (motions carried 4-0). The board also recorded the resignation of Monica Moore as golf coach and then hired Christie Austin as Pre-K Director/Teacher at HES for 2026-2027 (motion carried 4-0).
Superintendent Isbell recommended and the board approved Delores Sutterfield as a District Food Service Consultant effective May 6, 2026, and hired Madeline Luff for maternity leave coverage effective May 4, 2026; both motions carried 4-0.
The meeting adjourned at 6:52 p.m.
