COA lists spring programs; management warns residents about insurance, pest control and maintenance

The Town of Sherborn Council on Aging and Woodhaven management used the April 16, 2026 meeting to announce upcoming senior programs and routine property-management tasks.
Kristine Gallant of the Council on Aging detailed offerings for May and June, including Zoom and in-person fitness classes, Lifetime Learning sessions (Mastering the iPhone, history and poetry classes), a Mediterranean Diet presentation and social meals. Gallant also listed recurring programs such as the Coffee Bar, Mahjong and scheduled blood-pressure clinics.
Claire M. McClennan, Woodhaven’s managing agent, reminded residents that 2025 tax returns that may qualify tenants for a $100 rent reduction must be received by Wednesday, April 22. "If you think your income may qualify you for a $100 reduction in your rent, I need to receive it no later than Wednesday, April 22nd," McClennan said. She also said five residents had let renter's insurance policies lapse and asked residents to provide updated certificates when policies are renewed.
McClennan advised that Bay State Pest Control will spray building exteriors on Tuesday, May 5 and asked residents to keep windows closed during the treatment; she described last year’s insect problem as phorid flies nesting under eaves. She also said hallway air-conditioning would be serviced on April 20 and that she had ordered two new "Parking for Residents Only" signs to replace sun-bleached signs.
During the Chair’s report, Pamela Dowse said the On-Site Insight assessment concluded the buildings are "generally in good condition" and supplied a schedule for future repairs. During public comment, residents asked for line striping and numbering of resident parking spaces and for inquiries into adding additional TV channels or streaming options for sports programming.
The meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m.; the committee’s next regular meeting is scheduled for May 21, 2026.
