HR Director Jess Ulrich told the board the final procedural step in an unrequested leave of absence process: the teacher had been notified, there was a 10‑day period to request a hearing before the board, and the teacher did not exercise that right. "The teacher did not exercise that right. So this is just the final resolution that will place this community education teacher on unrequested leave of absence starting next school year," Ulrich said.
Board member Storley moved to forego the reading and approve the final resolution on the grounds of decreased enrollment in programs and the district's financial conditions; the motion was seconded and the board voted 'Aye.' Ulrich confirmed the resolution was prepared following the board's April 13 work session and that the item before the board was the final administrative action required by statute and district policy.
The board recorded no dissenting votes during the public vote on the resolution and moved on to member reports.
