Council authorizes demolition quotes for burned mobile home and approves disposition of surplus town signage

Paul Crecelius described an abandoned mobile home at 215 Horton Ave that had been destroyed by fire. Attorney Lyn Tucker Fullen said the unsafe‑premises process had been initiated and that the owners failed to comply with a Dec. 2, 2025 removal deadline. Councilman Danny Hickman moved that Attorney Fullen solicit quotes from local contractors to demolish and remove the burned trailer; Councilman Brian Shipman seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Citizen Brian Campbell asked about retaining damaged parks department signage in his possession. President Theron Owen moved to deem the signage of no value to the town; the motion passed unanimously.
Campbell also requested to purchase an unused Paoli Police Department sign for $500 to be donated to the Paoli Municipal Volunteer Fire Department, with an additional $100 if current Paoli police officers would autograph the sign. Councilwoman Donna Dillard moved approval with a stipulation recorded in the minutes that the sign cannot be displayed at the former Dairy Land business or anywhere in town. Councilman Shipman seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Karen Padgett provided proof of insurance and an address for delivery of cemetery cleaning materials; no further action was recorded.
