Superintendent Dr. Whiteley said the cybersecurity policy is intended to comply with state requirements tied to recent legislation and to avoid audit findings: “These need to be getting effect for the 26–27 school year and states will begin auditing that we have this policy in place,” she said. The Peterman item approved pricing for one year; administration said further work would follow to align any collective-bargaining language.
The board unanimously approved the bundled items for policies, pricing proposal and job descriptions by roll call. Personnel items were pulled for separate consideration and were approved by roll call with one 'no' vote recorded. Treasurer Adam Zink reviewed the Plattenberg contract as a two-year engagement to convert district accounting from cash to GAAP for fiscal-year reporting and grant-related reporting.
Board members asked clarifying questions about transportation staffing and noted the new director of transportation role is intended to help the district pursue K–12 busing efficiency.
