Votes at a glance: Atlantic Beach council approves two ordinances, tables three others

At its Sept. 22 special session, the Atlantic Beach Town Council recorded votes on multiple ordinances.
Ordinance No. 11-2025 (licensing for sexually oriented businesses) was approved on second reading; Councilwoman Carla Taylor moved and Councilman Edward Campbell seconded. Ordinance No. 12-2025 (amendment to Bike Fest fees) was approved on second reading without discussion. Ordinance No. 15-2025 (amendment to general provisions, Title 7, Chapter 7) was approved on second reading after a motion and second.
Council tabled several items to allow staff time to supply specifications or the physical ordinance text: Ordinance No. 13-2025 (amendment to the business license ordinance, Section 10 — inspections and audits, including life safety inspections) was tabled to obtain fee and specification details; Ordinance No. 14-2025 (planning and development fees and noise decibel requirements) was tabled for fee and noise clarification; and the first reading of Ordinance No. 16-2025 (establishing the Atlantic Beach Gullah Geechee Festival) was tabled because the town did not have the ordinance document available at the meeting.
Roll-call votes recorded affirmative responses from Councilman Edward Campbell, Councilwoman Carla Taylor and Mayor Pro Tem John David in each approval recorded during the session. Where items were tabled, motions and roll-call votes were recorded as noted in the minutes.
