Chapter coordinator Poonam Agarwal described Guru Vandana, a teacher‑appreciation program that brought teachers and school leaders from across Central Florida to a cultural recognition event; volunteers later organized an appreciation lunch at Winter Springs High School for more than 60 teachers.
The society described recurring activities including a Sewa Diwali food drive supporting local school pantries (Indian Trail Middle School and Winter Springs High School), quarterly highway cleanups (East Lake Drive), Raksha Bandhan visits to local first‑responders, and youth programming that includes school yoga clubs. Ishwar Mudevali, vice president of the Hindu Society, introduced the group and its priest who led an invocation earlier in the meeting.
Commissioners and attendees thanked the group and asked that staff follow up on possible collaboration on future community events.
