Brentwood public works reports streetlight repairs, crosswalk pilot and sidewalk work

Public Works Director Dan Gummershiemer updated the commission on multiple infrastructure projects on Feb. 25.
He said an electrician ordered a replacement streetlight control cabinet for Manchester Road (north side, just east of Dorothy Avenue), with the cabinet expected around May 2026, and that conduit and wiring work for four streetlights near the former Circle K is scheduled for late February or early March. Staff removed a broken streetlight post on the south side of Manchester Road and ordered a replacement.
Gummershiemer reported that Tapco delivered final equipment for a McKnight Road crosswalk pilot on Feb. 19 and staff are coordinating installation dates and rental-lift scheduling. He said Precision Concrete Cutting should complete final sidewalk cutting in Brentwood Forest by the end of February. A survey postcard on potential solar streetlights for Mari Kay Court and Douglas Court had not yet been distributed; if responses support installation, staff will request cost estimates.
