Garfield County commissioners approve routine invoices, cash-fund appropriations and purchase orders

At its April 27 meeting the Board of Garfield County Commissioners approved routine fiscal and procurement items including minutes, invoices, cash-fund appropriations and purchase orders.
Member Joe Kegin Jr. moved to approve the minutes of April 20, 2026; the motion passed with Commissioners Clarence Maly and Reese Wedel also voting aye. Vice-Chairman Reese Wedel moved to approve and sign Bridge Inspection Invoice #424103 for Contract #LG-2449C and Report of Conference in the amount of $17,362.66; that motion passed unanimously.
The board approved two Cash Fund Estimates of Needs and Requests for Appropriation for Highway Unrestricted totaling $231,369.06 and $119,554.00 and approved a Cash Fund Estimate and Request for Appropriation for Drug Court in the amount of $10,263.88. The Garfield County Sheriff’s credit card expenditures of $2,151.50 were approved, and the March 2026 monthly reports from county offices were filed subject to audit.
Vice-Chairman Wedel moved for examination and approval of a lengthy set of warrants and claims covering multiple county funds (General, Highway Unrestricted, Clerk Preservation, Health Department, Sheriff Service Fee, Rural Fire Departments). The meeting minutes list dozens of payees and amounts and record unanimous approval. Joe Kegin Jr. moved to authorize the Chairman to sign Blanket Purchase Orders filed in the County Clerk’s Office; the board approved that motion unanimously.
The board also authorized Vice-Chairman Wedel to sign a rental agreement for a John Deere 672G motor grader for District #2 at $4,000 per month and approved a Road Crossing Agreement with Petra Oilfield Construction. The meeting adjourned to reconvene May 4, 2026.
