On May 11 the Bethel Park council approved a major-subdivision application submitted by the Erwin Myers Living Trust to divide the property at 4959 Highland Avenue into two lots.
Mrs. Piccolino introduced the motion to approve application 2026-0101, noting approval was conditioned on addressing outstanding comments from reviewing agencies and on recording the plan. The motion was seconded and carried on roll call 8–0 with one abstention (Miss Ford recorded an abstain during the roll). The chair and staff clarified at the meeting that the council's action only creates a new property line: any future placement of dwellings or site plans must still be reviewed and approved by the planning and zoning commission and conform to existing zoning and stormwater requirements.
Residents who spoke during the public-comment portion raised questions about notice and the location of property lines; staff offered to show the submitted plans after the meeting and said the planning and zoning commission had recommended the subdivision.
Provenance: The application and conditional approval were introduced by Mrs. Piccolino; the roll-call vote and the abstention are recorded in the meeting minutes and transcript.
