Officials warn state and federal changes could affect community mental health as budget meetings begin

Chairman Gregory Brodeur reported to the Shiawassee County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 14 that changes at the state and federal level affecting Community Mental Health have the potential to greatly affect county services.
The remark came during a brief report portion of the meeting. County Coordinator Dr. Boggs told the board that formal budget meetings will begin soon; Dr. Boggs also reported that District Court work is nearly complete and that Director Mike Reeves is preparing a price estimate for a veterans monument.
The comments were informational and no formal action was recorded on Community Mental Health or the veterans monument at the Aug. 14 meeting, which adjourned at 5:24 p.m.
