The committee was told St. Louis County will raise its per-prisoner housing fee from $50 to $75 for each 24-hour period. Major Sullivan said, “They92re gonna raise it to $75.” Committee members were told the city92s jail budget line is $10,000 and recent annual use has been about $6,000, so the department could absorb the increase under current spending levels.
The chair summarized the recommendation and the committee moved and seconded the motion to forward the contract. A roll-call vote recorded affirmative votes and the motion carried.
