The Edmore Village Council voted 6-0 on Nov. 3 to authorize a purchase agreement for a vacant parcel adjoining the village water tower.
Council member Colburn moved to authorize President Chet Guild and Village Manager Mark Borden to enter into a purchase agreement with Tom Olrich for Parcel #041-080-166-00, located on M-46, at a purchase price of $10,000 plus related closing fees of $1,500. The motion was supported by Council member Kanine and passed by roll call: Colburn, Griswold, Kanine, Moore, Pierce and Guild voted yes; Council member McParland was absent.
The council’s minutes state the parcel is directly east of and adjoins the village’s water tower property; council members said acquisition would be beneficial to the village. The motion explicitly authorized President Guild and Manager Borden to sign all documents related to the purchase.
There were no public comments on the agenda item and no further council comments recorded. The special meeting was called to order by President Chet Guild at 7:00 p.m. and adjourned at 7:10 p.m. after a voice vote to end the meeting. The council’s minutes list the next regular meeting as Nov. 10, 2025.
Details recorded in the minutes: parcel identifier #041-080-166-00; asking price $10,000.00; closing fees noted as $1,500.00. The minutes identify the seller as Tom Olrich and list Village Manager Mark Borden, Treasurer Shirley Drain and Clerk Kerri Peterson as present staff. The minutes do not specify planned post-closing use of the parcel, funding source for the purchase, or the closing timeline.
