Elberta council approves routine bills, payroll and multiple service contracts

At its April 16 meeting the Elberta Village Council unanimously approved $38,422.59 in accounts payable, payroll totaling $19,667, and a series of contracts and policies including an audit engagement, code enforcement contract and farmer’s market agreement. A website redesign proposal was tabled.
Council member Radionoff T. led unanimous votes April 16 approving routine financial items and several service contracts for the Village of Elberta.
The council approved the FY2026 check register (AP 3/12–4/9/2026) for $38,422.59 and payroll (3/13/26–4/9/26) for $19,667.00 after motions and roll-call votes that recorded all five members as voting aye. The meeting record shows the motions carried with no nays.
Council action included approval of an audit engagement with Gabridge & Company for the fiscal year ending Feb. 28, 2026, in an amount not to exceed $10,300 and authorization to execute the engagement letter. The council also approved an independent contractor agreement with Jimmy Baldwin for code enforcement officer services and amended the contract to reflect the budgeted amount of $3,500.
Other approvals included the 2026 Elberta Community Farmer’s Market contract, a facility rental contract, and a contract with Kerby’s Backhoe Services. The council also approved the Elberta Life Saving Station rental contract as amended to permit an outside vendor if the vendor is approved by the village council. Meggison Tents & Events was separately approved to provide outside tent services for the U.S. Life Saving Station event on June 20, 2026.
The council adopted a hiring, orientation and exit policy and acknowledgment form for village personnel. A proposal to redesign the village website with ADA compliance elements was moved and tabled for further review; the minutes record only that the item was tabled pending additional consideration.
All listed motions in the minutes carried by unanimous vote; where roll-call tallies are recorded, each of the five council members (Radionoff T., Fiebing, Holmes, O'Dwyer, Wilkins) is listed as voting aye. The meeting adjourned at 8:14 p.m.
