At the Committee of the Whole on July 16, 2024, the Silvis City Council considered several economic development and finance items and took unanimous procedural actions on multiple items.
Alderman Rick Lohse moved (seconded by Alderman Tony Trulson) to deny forwarding the Weber TIF Agreement to the Regular meeting; the committee approved that motion by voice vote, 8 ayes, 0 nays. The committee also approved a motion by Alderman Lohse (seconded by Alderman Joshua Dyer) to place the Solar follow-up item — described on the agenda as a $325,674 solar project — on the July 16 Regular meeting agenda; that motion carried 8–0. Alderwoman Chrissy Winters moved (seconded by Alderman Bob Cervantes) to take the city-owned house at Phipps Park back to committee for further consideration; that motion was approved 8–0. Finally, Alderman Doug Greer moved (seconded by Alderwoman Chrissy Winters) to return the ordinance on salaries for elected officials to committee; that motion also passed unanimously.
These committee decisions set the Regular meeting agenda and left several items for further committee work rather than immediate council approval. The Committee of the Whole adjourned at 8:13 p.m.
