The Tensas Parish School Board met March 13, 2025, at the Tensas Parish Material Center in St. Joseph and approved a series of routine actions, including minutes, financial reporting, a payroll-related check distribution, and a lease extension.
The board voted to approve the minutes from its Feb. 13 regular meeting after a motion by George Matthews and a second from Annice Miller. The board then received the January financial statement and a budget-to-actual update on a motion from Annice Miller, seconded by Knola Ransome.
On personnel-related payroll action, the board approved “Spring Break” sales tax checks for all employees to be paid March 21, 2025. George Matthews moved the measure, and Annice Miller seconded. The motion was recorded as passed by the board.
Board members also approved leasing CTI Towers an additional 30-by-30-foot space in Waterproof for $200, bringing the total annual lease to $450. Annice Miller moved the lease approval and George Matthews seconded; the motion passed.
Superintendent Joyce M. Russ made several announcements at the close of the meeting. “There will be a district Emergency Evacuation Drill March 18, 2025. I will be participating in it,” Russ said. She also said she will attend the Personnel Conference in Lafayette March 19–21 and reminded the board that Spring Break is March 24–28.
