At its July 7 meeting, Bristol City Council adopted a comprehensive consent agenda that authorized multiple funding agreements, procurement awards, change orders and software renewals.
Notable items approved included resolutions to fund local organizations (Believe in Bristol Inc.; Birthplace of the Country Music; Bristol Chamber of Commerce youth leadership program; Bristol Regional Speech and Hearing Center; Family Promise of Bristol; Paramount Center for the Arts; Sullivan County Family Justice Center; Theater Bristol), awards for public works materials and street maintenance contractors, and several public-safety purchases including the authorization to buy police vehicles under state contract and the purchase/renewal of Axon devices, in-car video systems and body cameras.
The consent package also authorized professional services agreements (CDM Smith for wastewater treatment construction administration), change orders on the Shelby Street booster station upgrade contract, and multiple cooperative-purchase software renewals (Microsoft Office 365, Sophos endpoint security, Tyler Technology support, OpenGov operations management, Laserfiche document management). Council approved the FY2027 pay and classification plan and several equipment purchases for public works (Freightliner rear loader, Kubota wheel loaders, refuse containers) using cooperative purchasing agreements where applicable.
Council had no requests to pull individual items from the consent agenda and approved the entire package by voice/roll call. Staff said detailed contract documents and vendor information are included in the meeting packet and will be available with the meeting record.
What happens next: Departments will execute procurement and service agreements per the approved resolutions and present any required change orders or project updates in future meetings or through routine administrative processes.
