Trustees recommend bylaws amendments, rename 'Old Business' and add trustee reports

Trustee Steve Chisnell moved the committee recommend amended bylaws to the Township Board that would (1) require committee members to be Waterford Township residents at least 18 years old (Article III Section 2) and (2) amend Article V to state that exceptions to monthly meetings will be posted on the library website by January each year. Kim Markee seconded the motion; trustees approved the recommendation unanimously.
Chisnell also proposed procedural changes to the committee’s agenda. Trustees voted to rename the existing 'Old Business' heading to 'Unfinished Business' and to add a 'Trustee Reports and Announcements' item that will appear before the Friends of the Library report going forward. Chisnell suggested adding a 'Board Development' agenda item for trustee education but moved to table that suggestion to the April meeting; the committee agreed to revisit it at that time.
The committee’s actions will be forwarded to the Township Board for placement on its agenda, per the trustees’ unanimous vote.
