Brett Steenburg of Steenburg Consulting Engineering represented Classic Auto Wash on July 1, presenting a proposal for a 310-square-foot addition at 289 North Comrie Avenue to convert two self-serve spray bays into touchless automatic bays, add payment kiosks and enhance exterior finishes. The proposal includes minor grading in the rear to address water drainage and states no changes to existing curb cuts or entrances/exits.
Planning staff classified the project as a Type II action under SEQRA, indicating no environmental review is required for this scope. The minutes record that no new connections to public water or sewer systems are required and that drainage will remain on-site so there is no net increase in impervious surface. Because the site is on a State Highway, the application must be referred to the Fulton County Planning Board under General Municipal Law; the board recorded that referral as the next action. A public hearing on the Classic Auto Wash application was scheduled for the August 5, 2025 meeting.
No final approvals were recorded at the July 1 meeting; the county referral and the scheduled public hearing are the next procedural steps.
