The City of Johnstown Planning Board voted to approve a requested use variance for Superior Modular Home Sales on Oct. 7, 2025, and noted procedural next steps including county review and a future public hearing.
Richard Leto presented the proposal to place a 28-by-48-foot modular show home on a portion of the vacant lot at 605 S. Comrie Avenue. He told the board the home would not be connected to utilities and that there would be no grading, paving, excavation, or lighting; a 5-by-5 information sign would be erected next to the building.
Board Member Terri Easterly moved to approve the use variance and Board Member Chandra Cotter seconded; the motion passed with five ayes and no abstentions or absences. The clerk noted the item will be sent to the Fulton County Planning Board for review and that a public hearing is scheduled for Nov. 4, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. The board recorded that Common Council approval is required before final implementation.
