City Clerk Melissa Cogwell asked the council to set administrative hearings for businesses that failed to renew business or liquor licenses in accordance with the city charter. Cogwell said notices have been mailed and estimated the current number of delinquent licenses at about 30 or fewer; she said the count should drop as owners respond and that new license applications would trigger inspections.
A councilmember moved, seconded and the council approved holding administrative hearings on Tuesday, March 17 at 6:30 p.m. Cogwell said the process will mirror prior years: affected businesses will be invited to attend, staff will present an updated list at the hearing, and council will work through the scheduled business owners.
