Council adopted Resolution 2026-004 amending participation in the Michigan Mutual Aid Box Alarm System Association after a motion carried by roll call (yes votes: Sebert, R. Thomas, Spencer, K. Young; motion adopted 4/0/1).
The council recognized Lucas Brown for passing the practical firefighter exam and noted the volunteer fire departmentcommunity events (fish fries and an upcoming Mother's Day flower sale). Members discussed Nextera's recent approval by Fairgrove Township for two 10-acre battery-storage sites; council asked staff to research applicable compliance documents and regulatory requirements before any village action.
Separately, the Fire Hall roof leak was discussed and staff were asked to obtain three bids for full repair. Later in the meeting the council approved three small clarifying changes to the village'fire contract language (motion by Sebert; roll-call vote recorded).
