Trappe council introduces ordinance to replace procurement policy, schedules Dec. 4 public hearing

The Trappe Town Council introduced Ordinance 4-2024 to repeal and replace the town procurement policy and set a Dec. 4 public hearing. The ordinance was requested at the prior meeting and was introduced unanimously on Nov. 6.
President Schmidt read Ordinance 4-2024 on Nov. 6, which would repeal and replace the Town of Trappe procurement policy governing purchases. Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan said the changes were requested at the previous council meeting. Commissioner Jeremy Newnam moved to introduce the ordinance, Commissioner Michael Sullivan seconded, and the introduction passed unanimously. A public hearing was scheduled for Dec. 4, 2024 at 5:45 p.m.
The council did not adopt the ordinance at the meeting; the public hearing will allow public input and a subsequent council vote will determine final adoption.
