Trappe completes lead service line inventory; council requests ARPA-funded contract amendment

Town Administrator Erin Braband told the council on Nov. 6 that the town’s lead service line inventory was completed and submitted to the Maryland Department of the Environment on Oct. 15, 2024.
Braband said the town will send 252 letters to property owners whose service-line status is listed as unknown. She reported that Davis, Bowen & Friedel offered to amend their contract to continue work on the inventory and related tasks using additional American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds; the council asked staff and the firm to draft an amendment and bring it back for council review.
Administrator Braband also requested a workshop to discuss allocation of remaining ARPA funds before the Dec. 31 deadline; the council scheduled that workshop for Nov. 19 at 4:30 p.m.
Next steps: staff will coordinate a contract amendment with Davis, Bowen & Friedel for council consideration and send the 252 notification letters. The ARPA workshop on Nov. 19 will address allocation of remaining funds.
