The appointment was memorialized in RESOLUTION NO. 2026-30 and takes effect immediately. The motion to approve the resolution was made by Council President Godinez Valencia and seconded by Mayor Dalin; the vote recorded Ayes: Councilor Eden Lopez, Councilor Gregory Vaughn, Council President Angeles Godinez Valencia, and Mayor Jeffrey Dalin.
The appointment follows a work-session interview process earlier in the evening in which the Council interviewed six applicants in a round-robin format using standardized questions provided in advance. Mayor Dalin reviewed the interview process at the start of the work session. No additional conditions or interim assignments were recorded in the minutes.
Next procedural steps: the newly appointed councilor will serve through Dec. 31, 2026; the minutes do not record a swearing-in ceremony in this session.
