A motion to approve the final budget included an explicit option to continue discussions about wages and a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) with Councilman Dick Sundberg; the motion was seconded by Chris Higgins and passed with all members voting aye, according to the minutes.
The vote followed approval of routine bills and ledger items that were presented as part of the consent agenda. The consent agenda — which included vendor payments and fund balances across general, sales tax, water and sewer funds — was moved by Councilman Chris Higgins, seconded by Councilman Chris Fix, and approved unanimously.
The auditor’s review and the council’s action leave salary and COLA discussions open for further consideration rather than finalizing changes as part of the budget adoption. The next regular council meeting is scheduled for Nov. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the community center.
