Bethel Park City Council unanimously approves appointments, contracts and ordinances in routine session

Bethel Park City Council voted unanimously during its April 13 meeting to approve a range of routine and policy items.
Council appointed Zach Patterson to the Planning and Zoning Commission for a term ending Dec. 31, 2029, after a motion by the Council President and a second; the roll-call vote was 8-0. The consent agenda (items A–F) cleared several administrative matters including approval of meeting minutes, an interview-room detention-cell camera change order, the Route 88/Milford signal upgrades pay application, the Shade Tree Commission allocation of $7,228.25 to plant roughly 25–30 trees in Molly Hill Park, a 2025 storm sewer repair contract and the 2025 road program; that motion passed 8-0.
Council approved the bills list dated April 13, 2026, totaling $2,060,092.52 by roll call vote 8-0. The council also unanimously adopted resolutions to opt in to the Allegheny County Community Development Block Grant program for program years 2027–2029 and to authorize execution of a cable franchise agreement with Comcast of Colorado, Pennsylvania & West Virginia LLC.
On planning matters, the council enacted Ordinance 4-13-26A, which repeals and replaces the municipal code section governing specific standards for keeping domestic chickens and ducks. The council likewise adopted the Municipality of Bethel Park 2025 Active Transportation Plan by resolution, and approved an updated memorandum of understanding between the Bethel Park Police Department and the Bethel Park School District (adding subsections d and e to section 1) subject to solicitor review to improve coordination.
The council also approved the purchase of intersection-camera data software from Viper AI LLC at an annual extended total of $10,432.50 charged to the general fund (line item 4105420010). All listed motions recorded roll-call tallies of 8-0 unless noted otherwise.
The meeting included routine reports from the library, police and fire departments and public comment on unrelated policy matters; council adjourned at the end of the session.
