Spring Valley board approves hires, accepts resignations and posts vacancy timeline

At its Oct. 22 meeting the School District of Spring Valley Board approved several personnel actions and set a timeline to fill a board vacancy. President Monica Vorlicek announced hirings: Henry Larson (substitute teacher), April Gipford (paraprofessional), Steven Britenbach (custodian) and Elizabeth Mueller (director of Cardinal Kids Club and 4K wrap-around program). The board also approved resignations from Jodi Kendrick (paraprofessional) and Elizabeth Mueller (paraprofessional).
The board discussed the process to fill the vacancy left by Joan Ford. Superintendent John Groh will publish notice in the Sun Argus newspaper, on the district website and at the Spring Valley post office and bank and will e-mail families. Letters of interest are due to the district office by 4:00 p.m. on Nov. 13, 2025.
The minutes show the personnel actions were announced after the board reconvened from closed session. No individual vote tallies were recorded in the minutes for the personnel approvals.
