Hope Winship, chair of the Personnel Committee, called the committee to order at 7:03 p.m. on April 21, 2026, at the Spring Green Village Office and appointed Wendy Crary as minute taker. Committee members present in person included Deb Miller; Robin Reid arrived later in the meeting.
The committee approved the minutes of its April 13 meeting and the evening’s agenda after motions by Deb Miller and Hope Winship; both motions were recorded as passing with all in favor. At 7:05 p.m., Winship moved and Miller seconded to convene into a closed session under Section 19.85(1)(c) of the Wisconsin Statutes, describing the statutory basis as "considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility." The roll call recorded Aye: Miller and Winship; the minutes state the motion passed with all in favor.
The committee later reconvened into open session at 8:19 p.m. on a motion by Robin Reid, seconded by Miller; that motion likewise passed with all in favor. Items listed for discussion in open session included hiring requirements and the process to fill the Police Chief position and proposed advertisement and publication for that position. No formal actions were taken on either hiring requirements or the advertisement and publication; the committee scheduled an additional meeting for April 29, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. to continue work on those items.
There was no general public comment recorded. The meeting adjourned at 8:21 p.m. on a motion by Miller, seconded by Reid, which passed with all in favor.
