Spring Green trustees hear update on abatement at 433 W. Madison Street, take no action

Frank Glynn provided a brief update on the status of repairs at the property and asked the board to consider removing a raze order (the transcript reads "raise order") so he could secure a loan to finish repairs. Trustees asked Glynn to attend the next two meetings because of an approaching July 1, 2026 deadline; Glynn agreed. The item was discussed but no ordinance, motion to lift the order, or other formal action was taken at the meeting.
At 7:17 p.m. the board voted unanimously, 7–0 on a roll call, to enter closed session under Section 19.85(1)(g) of the Wisconsin Statutes to confer with the village attorney about strategy related to litigation. The board returned to open session at 8:27 p.m.; the agenda item listing "guidance from the village attorney specifically related to abatement of property located at 433 W. Madison Street" was discussed in open session and no formal action resulted.
The board had approved minutes from the May 13 meeting on a motion by Trustee Damian Barta, seconded by Trustee David Saperstein; approved the evening's agenda on a motion by Trustee Deb Miller, seconded by Trustee Jean‑Claude Bédard; and approved disbursements on a motion by Trustee Miller, seconded by Trustee Barta — each by voice vote.
The board adjourned at 8:28 p.m. on a motion by Trustee Jean‑Claude Bédard, seconded by Trustee David Saperstein. The minutes were respectfully submitted by Vikki Stingley.
Next steps: trustees asked Frank Glynn to appear at the next two meetings because of the July 1, 2026 deadline; the board did not change the abatement order at this meeting.
