Spooner council approves right-of-way vacation, reimbursement resolution and accessory-structure ordinance amendment

The Spooner City Council on Feb. 4 approved a package of actions including the vacation of a portion of the platted right-of-way of Oseewee Plaisance, a reimbursement resolution and an amendment to Chapter 86 governing accessory structures.
Mayor Gary J. Cuskey opened the business portion of the meeting and the council moved quickly through routine items before taking up the formal actions. Council member Gabriel moved to approve Resolution 25-01, vacating the specified portion of Oseewee Plaisance; Council member Parker seconded and the motion passed, with the transcript recording the outcome as "passed" but not listing individual vote tallies.
On a motion by Dunn with Everroad seconding, the council approved Resolution 25-02, a reimbursement resolution related to municipal financing. Council also approved an amendment to Chapter 86 on accessory structures on a motion by Everroad, seconded by Lake; Lake requested the record note a desire to add future language regarding screening or landscaping when drafting follow-up text.
Council additionally approved a letter supporting Washburn County's LRIP (Local Road Improvement Program) pilot, which would return LRIP administration to the county and could change how municipalities interact with WisDOT and the county highway commissioner; Council member Everroad moved and Oja seconded that support letter motion, which the council passed. The council noted WisDOT retains final authority over LRIP administration.
