Council members warn Tom Mann Road may be impassable for emergency vehicles during Cotton Fair, urge DOT involvement

"It is extremely bad," Watts said of the section beyond the crossing and warned that "a large truck, firetruck and possibly an ambulance would not be able to use that road in case of an emergency while the train is stopped."
Council member Keith added that during fairs vehicles continue to park on Highway 85, south of Flat Shoals Road, creating unsafe conditions for vehicles exiting Flat Shoals. The council noted that because Highway 85 is a state road, involvement by the Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) would be required to address signage or parking enforcement on that highway.
