Town Clerk Sandra Regan told the board that the proposed moratorium ordinance is identical to prior versions except that Attorney Macri prepared this draft as a one-year moratorium rather than an eight-month moratorium used previously. The board discussed ARC Herkimer’s tentative pilot agreement in connection with planning work on an Event Center Project and tabled any action on that pilot agreement until a signed agreement is received.
The scheduled public hearing will give residents an opportunity to comment on the moratorium and any proposed zoning changes. The board handled acceptance of the proposed law as a procedural step to allow formal public notice and review before any regulation is enacted.
