In staff reports, the Business Improvement District (BID) said it lost one board member and intends to appoint Mary Rossing to complete the term, with formal council appointment to be requested in October. BID also said it will stop contributing to the Burnett County tourism guide and will reallocate funds toward photography and discuss creating a tourist district with clearer guidelines to protect Walnut Street.
The library liaison reported July was the busiest month in the past 10 years, noting strong patron use of several services including various museum/zoo/state-park passes; Councilmember Lake thanked library staff and highlighted the value of those passes to families.
