Spooner approves new garbage rates and accepts July financial report

The Spooner City Council voted Sept. 2 to adopt new garbage rates under RES 25-10 and accepted the July 2025 financial report.
Dunn, speaking for the Finance Committee, said the new rates reflect savings realized from the spring clean-up and a recent partnership with the Northwest Regional Planning Commission, and that increased reimbursement from Washburn County should yield further savings in the coming year. The council approved the resolution by motion (Dunn/Everroad).
The council also approved the consent agenda (which included acceptance of the Aug. 5 minutes and approval of monthly payables) and then approved the July financial report by motion (Parker/Oja).
Council members did not request additional changes to the financial materials during the meeting. The council adjourned at 5:20 p.m.
