Robbins council approves county agreement, ordinances and $293,044.95 in warrants

The Village of Robbins board voted Sept. 13 to approve an intergovernmental agreement with the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways and a package of ordinances and vendor contracts, and to clear a warrant list totaling $293,044.95.
The council unanimously approved Resolution 9-13-22 authorizing the county agreement. Trustee Michael Collier Sr. moved the resolution and Trustee Gregory N. Jackson seconded; Trustees Ernest Maxey Jr., George Brewton, Tiffany S. Robinson, Gregory N. Jackson and Michael Collier voted yes; Trustee David R. Dyson was absent.
Council members also amended the village code to clarify appointment and removal authority of the mayor and board (Ordinance 9-13-22), approved an agreement with CDS Technologies for printer services and accepted a proposal from TKB Associates, Inc. for Laserfiche cloud services. Each item passed by the same roll-call margin.
The board authorized an ordinance to issue corporate-purpose tax anticipation warrants in evidence of a no-interest loan through Cook County’s Local Taxing District Loan Program to provide short-term liquidity. Trustee Collier moved the measure; Trustee Ernest Maxey Jr. seconded.
In new business the council approved a warrant list of $293,044.95. Trustee George Brewton moved approval; Trustee Maxey seconded. The meeting record shows the same five aye votes and one absence for these items.
The board also approved two street closures for community events: a car show for New Friendship Baptist Church on Sept. 24, 2022, and a Labor Day Festival scheduled for Sept. 1–3, 2023 at 13800 Trumbull Ave. Christopher Bollinger was sworn in as Division Chief of EMS during the meeting.
