Chair Greg Chernack moved and the council approved the minutes of the January meeting. Later in the manager’s report the council approved updating bank account signatories to retain Gregory Chernack and add Josh Galper and Rachel DeLong; remaining former signatories will be removed.
Town Manager transition: officials said the transition from Ashley to Rachel DeLong is essentially complete and DeLong now manages the town email account, office phone and files.
Hybrid meetings and public works: councilmembers said Montgomery Municipal Cable will assist the town in acquiring equipment for hybrid meetings; it is unclear whether the March meeting will be set up for virtual participation. Public-works updates noted completion of pipe work on Williams Street, with concrete and subsequent mill-and-overlay paving planned when weather permits; crews are tentatively scheduled to be onsite on Thursday, March 13 at 8 a.m. There is a virtual meeting for Leland residents about repaving on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
Next steps: Council indicated it will reschedule the March meeting because of the March 11 County Council hearing and will inform residents of the new date.
