The chief also reported about 25 total applications in the hiring queue (nine under active review), a new police clerk starting Monday and a program manager for automated enforcement joining the department the same week. Councilmembers thanked staff for recent community events, and the chief said the department is also advancing plans for red‑light camera enforcement at specified intersections and for Public Safety Day on Oct. 11.
Council members expressed support for automated enforcement and urged continuation of efforts to install red‑light cameras and to use enforcement data to guide safety initiatives.
