Cabot School District to use $625,345 tutoring grant with Amplify for small-group online tutoring

Stacy Allen told the board the grant funds will support Amplify Tutoring services for students at Central Elementary, Magness Creek Elementary, Northside Elementary, Cabot Learning Academy and Middle School South. According to the presentation, students will work in groups of four with a live tutor online.
The district packet states the grant award is $625,345.31. Schools participating in the Amplify program were named in the curriculum report; the district did not specify grade-level enrollment counts for the program in the minutes. Aaron Randolph also noted that the district provides 30 minutes per week of gifted enrichment for kindergarten and evaluates second graders for gifted-program qualification, placing the tutoring program alongside existing acceleration and honors pathways.
The board accepted the curriculum report and related informational items; the tutoring partnership was presented as an informational item rather than an action requiring a vote. The district indicated the tutoring effort is funded by the grant amount noted and will be implemented at the listed campuses during the school year.
