Michael Byrd, speaking in the Superintendent's report, said the $804,000 award is intended for intercom upgrades and enhanced two-way communication. Byrd also provided multiple construction and facilities updates: padding columns for the multi-purpose pavilion will ship tomorrow, the Pre-K North metal building has been delivered and crews are addressing storm drainage, the Pre-K South building is scheduled for delivery around Oct. 24, the special services addition at the Central Administration Office (CAO) should begin in about four to six weeks, and the field house locker room expansion has begun.
Board documents indicate the district will follow standard procurement and construction oversight processes; the grant award and project schedules were presented for information during the meeting. The minutes do not list a funding breakdown or expected timeline for completion of each project beyond the delivery and start dates provided by facilities staff.
The board voted on related administrative items later in the meeting, including authorization to sell identified custodial items and approval of personnel recommendations. No public comment was offered during the meeting.
