Planning commissioners recommend rezoning of 2.08 acres on W. Lang Rd. to M-1

The Town of Spring Valley Planning & Zoning Committee on May 26 recommended the Town Board approve a land division and rezoning that would convert a 2.08-acre portion of parcel 6-18-109 (13813 & 13913 W. Lang Rd.) from A2 agricultural to M-1 light industrial. The motion to recommend approval passed 4-0.
Dave Brethauer moved to recommend approval of the 2.08-acre division and rezoning; Committee Member Dawn Manley seconded. The committee’s action was unanimous. The record notes the 2.08-acre area has been used under a Conditional Use Permit for commercial purposes dating back into the 1970s.
Applicants Mr. and Mrs. Seichter sought the division and rezoning to reflect the established commercial use of accessory structures and sheds on the parcel. The committee’s recommendation does not itself change zoning; the Town Board must consider the PZC recommendation and take final action.
If the Board approves the rezoning as recommended, the 2.08-acre portion will be recorded as M-1 (Light Industrial) and the remainder of parcel 6-18-109 will retain its existing zoning. The committee did not record additional conditions in its recommendation beyond the land-division and rezoning request.
The item will proceed to the Town of Spring Valley Board for a final decision.
