Agency official said much of the district's construction will be billed across two fiscal years and cited the need to plan for multi‑million‑dollar sticker shock in a forthcoming assessment report; staff recommended a special session to review the full, multi‑hundred‑page assessment.
On the True North project, the presenter said students should be able to occupy the building in mid‑August (target Aug. 10–17 window) and the contract includes liquidated damages of $500 per day for missed completion dates. On the gym floor project, contractor Pablo Soriano offered an in‑kind upgrade to higher‑grade wood at no extra cost, a contribution staff said they appreciated.
Agency official also described a warranty on the new turf and a planned reglue operation to fix numerous seam issues: crews will re‑glue seams with a hot‑glue machine and warranty coverage was cited as an ongoing protection for the district.
