Council approves budget amendments, sidewalk contract, school robotics donation and meter replacement

Consent agenda: The council approved FY2026 Budget Amendment #1 and FY2026 Budget Amendment #2 by a 6-0 vote after Council Member Daniel Yochelson moved to approve and Council Member Brian Sandusky seconded.
Maple Avenue sidewalk: City Administrator Julie Martorana reported two bids were received and vetted. Staff recommended awarding the Maple Avenue sidewalk contract to DIR Construction for $318,575. Council Member Eric Smothers moved to award the bid; Council Member John Caves seconded. The motion passed 6-0.
BHS Robotics donation: Director of Administration Carrie Myers presented a request for travel assistance for the BHS Robotics team to attend the World Championship in Houston. Council Member Daniel Yochelson moved to donate $1,000; Council Member Brian Sandusky seconded. The motion passed 6-0.
Inside meter replacements: Ms. Myers said staff recommended awarding a contract to Brown's Plumbing to replace inside water meters throughout the city, not to exceed $141,000. Council Member Eric Smothers moved and Council Member Brian Sandusky seconded the motion to award; the motion passed 6-0.
