Council authorized the funding pending legal sufficiency review and satisfactory demo testing by the police chief and town administrator; one council member recorded an abstention due to limited familiarity with the options.
Supporters said the software would increase responsiveness, improve tracking of resident requests and free staff time. Several council members asked that the town maintain in‑person and paper-based options for residents who cannot access online services; staff confirmed those alternatives would remain available.
