The memo read into the record noted earlier budgets had allocated $1,100,000 and that additional funding and a 10% contingency were identified from other CIP project balances.
Captain Cross addressed the board about the operational importance of the generator and the frequency of outages, saying the aging unit has required extensive repairs and that replacing it was timely. After a duly advertised public hearing with no speakers, a motion (speaker 4) to close the record and approve the budget amendment was seconded and adopted by voice vote.
The board directed staff to proceed with the budget amendment and the procurement process described in the staff memo.
